1. Who we are (controller)

AzAd Labs, operating HomeworkServices at homeworkservices.app ("HomeworkServices", "we", "us"), is the controller for personal data we collect about users of our marketing site and SaaS product (organization admins, staff users, and people who contact us). Organization customers are typically controllers of their own customer/job records stored in their workspace; we process that data as a processor on their instructions to provide the service.

2. Categories of personal data we collect

• Account and profile data — name, email, password (hashed), role, and organization details you provide at signup or in settings.
• Business workspace data you enter— customers, jobs, quotes, invoices, parts, and related records (may include your customers' personal data).
• Enquiry and support data — name, email, phone, company, and message content from contact or demo forms and support threads.
• Technical and security data — session cookies, IP address, device/browser information, and operational logs needed to run and secure the service.
• Usage data — product interaction events used for security, reliability, and product improvement.

Payment card details for HomeworkServices subscriptions are collected and processed by Paddle as an independent controller / merchant of record. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

3. Purposes and legal bases

• Provide the service and accounts — performance of a contract (or steps prior to contract).
• Billing and subscription management — performance of a contract; sharing necessary account identifiers with Paddle for checkout and subscription lifecycle.
• Security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection — legitimate interests in protecting the platform and users.
• Customer support and demo requests — legitimate interests and/or performance of a contract.
• Product improvement — legitimate interests in operating and improving HomeworkServices (using aggregated or minimized data where practical).
• Legal compliance — legal obligation where applicable.
• Marketing emails (if any) — consent where required, or legitimate interests with an easy opt-out.

4. Who we share data with

• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting and infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2), email delivery (Cloudflare Email / AzAd MailFlow) for operational and enquiry messages.
• Paddle (Merchant of Record) — for sale of HomeworkServices subscriptions, subscription management and payments, tax compliance, and invoicing. See Paddle's privacy policy.
• Professional advisers — legal, accounting, or auditors under confidentiality where needed.
• Authorities — where required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.

5. International transfers

We use Cloudflare and other providers that may process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal data from the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, provider certifications, or adequacy decisions as applicable.

6. Retention

We retain account and workspace data while your organization is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, dispute resolution, security logs, and legal requirements. Enquiry messages are retained so we can follow up and improve support. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and infrastructure security provided by our hosting partners. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies/session tokens for staff, portal, and platform authentication. These are required to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on the marketing site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Organization admins control customer and job data inside their workspace. To exercise privacy rights related to your HomeworkServices account, email enquiry@homeworkservices.app. We aim to respond within one month (or as required by applicable law). You may also complain to your local data protection authority (for example the ICO in the UK).
